truly the worst time of the year
i have a confession to make. I don't like the fourth of july. Actually it would be more fair to say I hate this holiday. Not only is it hot and hard to sleep, especially while being pregnant, but oh so many lovely neighbors insist on lighting off fireworks for the week before and several weeks after the actual blessed event. I am not interested in hearing your irritating fireworks at all hours of the night and if you wake my daughter who has not been sleeping well since we moved, I just might go insane and come to find whoever you are. I will come prepared with a bucket and my hose. All of those preciously annoying fireworks shall get doused in water. Ha! try lighting them after that.
I apologize to all those who enjoy this holiday, especially my family and children. But the fourth of july and halloween just don't do it for me.

I feel your pain, Sarah. We've had our windows open at night since it has been so hot, and then fireworks season opened. Our kids came wailing down the stairs the first night. It can make for a long couple of weeks.
I feel ya! I thought I had escaped it since moving out of NE, but aparently living in the "ghetto" in Colorado Springs is not any better. And there is supposed to be a ban here because of drought. Glad to know that the authorities are enforcing it so well!
Sarah, I'm with you on fireworks. Yuck! At least it's too dry for them here! For the time being anyway.
